Key Days and Structure of an Indian Wedding
We understand that an Indian wedding is not just one day, but an entire journey — Mehndi, Sangeet, Haldi, Ceremony, and Reception. We create décor and atmosphere that infuse each ritual with pure intention and the authentic spirit of Indian culture. Our approach to style and detail helps preserve a sacred connection to India’s traditions, even when the wedding takes place in the United States.
DAY 1 — Haldi
The yellow purification ceremony
✔ Family members apply a paste made of turmeric, sandalwood, yogurt, and oils to the bride and groom.

✔ Haldi symbolizes purification, protection, and blessings before the wedding rituals begin.
✔ Color: yellow. Clothing is simple, bright, and often monochromatic.

✔ Usually takes place at home, in a courtyard, or in a small hall.
DAY 3 — Sangeet
The grand musical celebration
✔ Dancing, choreographed performances by family members, a DJ, and dhol (traditional drums).

✔ Men and women participate equally — it is a true family celebration.

✔ At U.S. venues, Sangeet is often designed in a bold, vibrant style with LED panels, a stage, draping, florals, and dynamic lighting effects.

✔ One of the most joyful and large-scale days of the wedding festivities.
DAY 5 — Reception
The final banquet
✔ Guests, dancing, speeches by parents, and shared performances.
✔ Music: a mix of Bollywood and American hits, often with live performers or a DJ.
✔ Attire is more modern — evening gowns, suits, and fusion fashion.
✔ Décor tends to be more “American” or luxury-focused compared to the ceremony.
DAY 2 — Mehndi
Henna ceremony & relaxed celebration
✔ The bride receives intricate henna designs on her hands and feet.

✔ Female relatives and friends are given simpler henna patterns.
✔ Atmosphere: cushions, low seating, vibrant textiles, soft music, and light refreshments.
✔ In the USA, Mehndi often becomes a pre-party leading into the Sangeet celebration.
DAY 4 — Wedding Ceremony
If Hindu:
If Sikh:
✔ Takes place under a mandap — a decorative ceremonial structure.
✔ Key rituals include: Jaimala; Kanyadaan; Saat Phere; Sindoor.
✔ Duration: approximately 1–2 hours.
✔ Color palette: traditionally vibrant — red, gold, and orange.
✔ Held in a Gurdwara (temple) or at a venue with a ceremonial platform.
✔ Main ritual: Laavan — four circumambulations around the Guru Granth Sahib.
✔ The atmosphere is more serene, with a soft, pastel color palette.
We work with large-scale weddings — 200–500 guests
“May your hearts be united, may your thoughts be united; may your communities and homes come together, as water merges with water.”
(Atharva Veda 6.9.2)
An Indian wedding is not only the union of two people, but the coming together of two families and lineages. The more guests present, the stronger the sense of unity, support, and family roots. It is a celebration where generations gather to bless a new family.

We provide expert décor consultations for weddings of this scale and carefully plan every detail so that each guest feels part of something truly meaningful and memorable.
Feedback
Bride’s testimonial
Hindu wedding, New Jersey
“I dreamed of a beautiful mandap, but I never imagined it would turn out like this. The team captured the atmosphere of our culture with incredible precision — from Haldi to the ceremony itself. My family was absolutely thrilled, especially my mother. Everything felt as if we had been transported to India for one day.”
Groom’s testimonial
Gujarati wedding, California
“We were worried about how to design the Sangeet in an American banquet hall, but everything turned out perfectly — the vibrant colors, the stage, the lighting — exactly what makes a Sangeet feel authentic. The guests never left the dance floor. Huge thanks for the incredible energy and attention to detail!”
Testimonial from the bride’s parents
“For us, it was very important to preserve our traditions and create a wedding worthy of our family. The team not only understood every ritual, but also guided us on how to best organize the space for the guests and the priest. The mandap turned out both blessed and beautiful — we received so many compliments.”
Testimonial from the groom’s parents
“Our son’s wedding was large — almost 400 guests. We were worried it might feel chaotic, but the décor was planned in such a thoughtful way that everyone felt included. We especially loved how the Haldi area was designed — bright, warm, and truly family-oriented.”
Testimonial from the bride’s sister
“I helped my sister with the planning and saw firsthand how professionally the team worked. They knew the names and meaning of every ritual and even suggested creative ideas for the Mehndi setup and photo zones. Everything looked incredible — guests were taking photos at every turn.”
Couple’s testimonial
Indian-American wedding, Miami
“We wanted a fusion wedding — honoring our parents’ traditions while embracing a modern style. They created a mandap in soft white and blush tones, and it was pure magic. Each day of the wedding had its own look, yet everything was tied together by one cohesive aesthetic. Truly incredible work!”
Testimonial from a family uncle
Punjabi wedding, Texas
“I have attended many weddings, but I haven’t seen such a harmonious balance of tradition and modern style in a long time. The Sangeet décor was vibrant and joyful, while the ceremony felt dignified and deeply spiritual. It was as if a part of our culture had been brought here to the United States. We are very grateful for such care and respect.”
